Lyerly Agency touts accomplishment for 16th consecutive year
(9/17/14) BELMONT, N.C. – From encouraging ongoing staff development to providing vast flexibility for its employees, Lyerly Agency’s leaders have cultivated a “Family Friendly” environment since the firm’s inception in 1977. For these efforts, and many more, the Belmont-based business was recognized by Carolina Parenting, Inc. among the state’s top 50 family-friendly companies. The honor arrives for the 16th consecutive year – Lyerly Agency has made the prestigious listing every year since it was first created in 1999.
“We’re honored and humbled to be recognized among the most family-friendly companies in North Carolina,” said Melia Lyerly, COO. “It’s truly vital to appreciate the whole person and not just the work accomplished. We value the work of our employees as well as the lives and families they value outside the office.”
She added, “We are quite grateful to Charlotte Parent and its sister publications of Carolina Parent and Piedmont Parent for recognizing our efforts toward this fundamental goal year after year.”
Named to the 2014 N.C. Family-Friendly 50, Lyerly Agency is recognized for its flexible work options, family-like office environment, generous extension of benefits and overall understanding that family plays a pivotal role in a person’s life. The 37-year-old firm offers its employees paid time off for adoption, telecommuting job opportunities and ample sick time. Additionally, the office closes its doors at noon each Friday to allow employees a few extra hours to settle into the weekend.
Since its inception in 1977, Lyerly has worked diligently to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere. Whether it’s encouraging staff to grow professionally in their education or greeting four-legged family members that visit during office hours, this advertising and marketing agency proudly understands the importance of a work-life balance. For these reasons, and others, Lyerly has joined the ranks of the N.C. Family-Friendly 50 for 16 years – only one of three statewide organizations to maintain the achievement since its first award. All awarded companies were nominated this spring and demonstrated various means – work-life incentives, health and wellness programs, etc. – for creating an environment that fosters a family life outside the workplace.
